While we were in Baltimore, I had the opportunity to work at a Jewish nursing home. The residents there loved to play bingo, black jack, or casino games. It's no surprise that they wanted to go on gambling field trips. They wanted to go to Atlantic City in NJ, but we the "Therapeutic Recreation" department didn't want to travel that far.
Instead, we scheduled a trip to the Pimplico horse racing track once a year and took as many residents as we could. We even got seats in the best area so our residents could dine and watch at the same time. Of course we had to bring our own kosher food, but the residents loved being waited on all the same. Here are some pictures from that trip that I never got around to sending to everyone. Enjoy.
